About Rotational Moulding Machines
INTRODUCTION
The UNITED (model 4000-4C) is quite a unique design for rotomoulding, and UNITED Rot machinery is proud of this fact.. This is the only true independent-arm machine as all 4 arms can be operated independently from one another. For many rot molders, this is a dream machine as meets their special needs as far as independence and flexibility. The main raw material for rotomolding is one of the polyethylene resins, which is loaded into the mold to begin the process. In the heating chamber, the mold is rotated as it is heated. The frame of the mold is capable of rotating the mold to every point of its rotational axis. As the mold rotates, the resin is spread over the interior surface of the mold giving the finished product an equal and even thickness across its surface. After a set period of time, the mold moves from the heating chamber to the cooling chamber, where the liquified melted resin is allowed to cool before the plastic product is ejected from the mold. Rotationally molded products are of the highest quality and are known for their durability and strength.
WORKING PRINCIPAL
Rotomoulding Molding Machine involves a heated hollow mold which is filled with a charge or shot weight of material. Rotational molding Machine slowly rotated, causing the softened material to disperse and stick to the walls of the mold. In order to maintain even thickness throughout the part, the mold continues to rotate at all times during the heating phase and to avoid sagging or deformation also during the cooling phase. We are Leading Rotomoulding Machine Manufacturer in Ahmedabad, India.
Rotational Moulding Machines
Rotational molding, commonly referred to as “rotomolding”, is a plastic casting technique used to produce large hollow, seamless, and double-walled parts. It is a three-stage process that involves a mold on a rotating frame, a heating chamber, and a cooling chamber. Molds for the rotomolding process are specially designed and are capable of producing single and double wall products.
advantages
- Low tooling costs. As this is a casting process there is no pressure. This means moulds are inexpensive and low volume can be economic. If you have a great idea for a new product but don’t know how many you’ll sell or simply want a low volume production run, rotomoulding’s low initial investment makes it particularly attractive.
- It’s easy to make complicated shapes. Rotomoulding readily accommodates production complexities such as stiffening ribs, moulded inserts and different surface textures.
- There is almost no limit to the size of products and several different products can be moulded at the same time.
- Uniform wall thickness. Rotomoulding achieves consistent wall thickness with corners tending to be thicker. This increases product strength and integrity. Other processes such as blow moulding stretch the molten material at corners or sharp edges creating potential thin spots and weaknesses.
- Rotational moulding machine costs are low compared to other processes and the investment required is small. There is great production flexibility with the process.
